Welcome to My Blog - My Interpretation of My First Favourite Quote by Buckminster Fuller

Hi everyone! This is my first blog post about quotes that inspire and motivate me and I would love to share my interpretations of these with the world. I love reading books about motivation, progression, transformation and personal development and interpret them in my own way that relates to my life.  For this blog, I am going to take quotes from successful and amazing people and from books that I have read that have really inspired me and interpret them in my own way.

My first post is about my favourite quote by R. Buckminster Fuller.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.

In this post, I will offer my own interpretation of what this means in relation to the mind and how we deal with social and emotional circumstances.

In some situations, fighting the existing reality and mind will get you nowhere. Sometimes you will go through an experience which you keep trying your best to resolve but you will find that you are not getting anywhere with it. In such situations, there is no point in fighting what you are going through or the thoughts that you are having about them because they are not allowing you to progress. Your mentality and the reality that you are experiencing are holding you back from attaining peace. All you are doing is going round in a constant cycle of the same thoughts and experiences and nothing ever changes. You are trapped in a repetitive existence with the same results after each thought and experience. Everything remains the same. In some situations, you become trapped in a cycle of the same thoughts and the same experience over and over again. You try to escape this cycle but because you are in this old pattern of thoughts, habits and personality traits, you are thinking the same thoughts repetitively and your perspective on the situation remains constant. This is what is keeping you trapped in the same position. You are not shifting your perspective on the situation which is actually part of the problem itself.

The only way out of this cycle is to build a new existence with a new mind. Build a new way of thinking and a new perspective. Approach the situation as a new person with a different point of view.

Get out of your current existence and then leave it alone. You need to step outside of your personality, way of thinking and your pattern of thought and the cycle you have entrapped yourself in and leave it alone. Do not return to it because if you do, you will still find no change. Think of the existing reality as something you need to step out of and cannot return to because it will not change. You have tried your best to resolve a situation and progress within the old personality but to no effect.

What you need to do is form a new personality. Once you leave the old personality, do not think about going back to it because when you do, you will just find the same old and unproductive patterns of thoughts and experiences. You are not going to find any change or resolutions.

In order to change the situation you are in, you need to become somebody else. You need to change your way of thinking, experience new thoughts and reform your personality traits. You need to begin a new existence and start living through a new mind and life from a brand new page. In some situations, the only solution will be to build a new model of yourself and start living through a new mind, perspective and personality. It’s only then that you can experience a new reality. Live life from a brand new page. Shed your old existence and mentally step into a new reality. You need to see yourself in a new light because you tend to act according to how you see yourself. If you can change the way you see yourself and your self-concept, then that will change your perspective on everything in your existing reality. This means that you need to change who you are and be completely brand new in order to resolve a problem and make progress in achieving your goals.

Conclusion

As long as you are grappling with the old ways of thinking and feeling, you are not going to resolve some situations that you are going through. You will just be trapped in a cycle of repetitive thoughts and actions.   The only solution is to get out of the old or existing reality and form a new reality by changing your thoughts and perspectives on your situations and problems. Once you do become the new and stronger version or model of your previous self and you look back at your old reality, it will not matter anymore because that version of reality has become obsolete. What will matter is the new person you have become with your new way of thinking and your brand new existence.

So what changes would you like to make in your life that require a new and stronger model of yourself? I would love to hear about them! Please write them in the comments below :) (Your email will not be displayed.)
